BRICOLAGE
Bricolage is french translation for DIY. Greater than the definition, bricolage is about integrating a variety of knowledge from different aspects of your life in order to create unique and innovative work.
I titled this project Bricolage because in its final form this piece addresses a problem with an artful design and well-crafted solution. It’s purpose was to perform as a multi-functional piece of furniture to serve as a coffee table as well as provide seating for guests living in tight spaces similar to your NYC shoebox.
This project follows three guidelines:
Intimate knowledge of resources.
Self-correcting structures with feedback
Trusting one’s ideas.
On a deeper level I see Bricolage as it represents my life and career. I am able to apply my unique perspective and background knowledge as an art director and crafter to any project.
